Thymosin Alpha-1
A 28-residue N-terminally acetylated peptide. The acetyl cap is verified by MS on every lot — an uncapped fraction is the usual defect.
Thymosin alpha-1 is acetylated at the N-terminus, and incomplete acetylation is the defect we screen hardest for. An uncapped fraction differs from the target by 42 Da, which is well inside the resolution of our instrument but easy to miss if nobody is looking for it. We deconvolve the full charge envelope on every lot and report the ratio explicitly. The sequence is also acidic enough that it tails badly on older columns, so this product is run exclusively on freshly qualified stationary phase.
