A heptapeptide ACTH fragment analogue with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro tail that resists exopeptidase trimming.
Semax is short enough that synthesis is routine and long enough that the histidine and methionine both need watching. Our failure mode of record is racemisation at histidine under prolonged coupling, so we run that step cold and short, then verify by chiral amino-acid analysis on the first three lots of every campaign. The Pro-Gly-Pro tail makes the peptide unusually well-behaved in solution — it is one of the few items in the catalogue we are comfortable quoting a month-long refrigerated stability window for.
