GHK-Cu
Copper Tripeptide-1
A copper(II)-complexed tripeptide with an unmistakable royal blue cake. Copper occupancy is measured, not assumed.
The interesting analytical problem with GHK-Cu is not the peptide — a tripeptide is trivial to assemble — it is the metal. A batch can be 99% pure by HPLC and still be half apo-peptide if the copper loading step ran short or the chelation pH drifted. We quantify copper by ICP-MS on every lot and report the molar ratio on the certificate. The colour is a useful field check: a fully loaded cake is a saturated royal blue, and a pale or greenish cake means something went wrong in transit.
