§ 01 — Evidence

The trace is the product.

Anyone can print a number on a label. A chromatogram is harder to fake and much harder to misread: one dominant peak, a flat baseline, and every impurity that absorbs at 214 nm sitting in plain view where you can count it.

Below is the qualifying run for lot GPB-4471, reproduced from the certificate in that carton.

§ 03 — Process

Resin to
carton
in one
building.

Nothing is brokered. The chemist who ran the synthesis can walk twenty metres to the analytics bench and look at the trace, which is the entire argument for keeping a small catalogue.

    Synthesis

    Resin → crude

    Fmoc solid-phase assembly, capped after every coupling so deletion sequences stay chromatographically separable instead of hiding under the main peak.

  2. 02

    Purification

    Crude → apex cut

    Preparative C18 with a shallow acetonitrile gradient. We collect the apex and let the shoulders go to waste — the reason our yield is unremarkable and our traces are not.

  3. 03

    Analysis

    Apex cut → certificate

    Six assays per lot: RP-HPLC area, ESI-MS identity, net peptide content, Karl Fischer moisture, residual TFA, and an LAL endotoxin screen.

  4. 04

    Fill & seal

    Certificate → carton

    A 34-hour lyophilisation cycle, then filling and crimping under argon in 3 mL borosilicate. The certificate is printed the same hour and packed against the carton wall.

Written by the analytics desk rather than by marketing, which is why some of the answers are longer than they need to be.

01Will you sell to an individual?

No. Orders ship to an institutional address — a university department, a hospital laboratory, a company with a registered VAT number. We ask for that address at checkout and we verify it, which occasionally makes us slower than the competition and reliably keeps us out of trouble.

02Why is net peptide content lower than purity?

They measure different things and the gap confuses a lot of first-time buyers. Purity is what fraction of the peptide present is the right peptide. Net peptide content is what fraction of the powder in the vial is peptide at all — the balance is trifluoroacetate counterion and bound water. A 99% pure peptide at 82% net content is normal and correct; a supplier quoting only the first number is telling you half the story.

03Can I see the certificate before I order?

Yes, and you should. Ask for the lot currently in stock and we will send the actual PDF for that lot — chromatogram, mass spectrum, the lot number on the label you will receive. We do not send representative or historical certificates, because a representative certificate is not evidence of anything.

04What does “area percent” actually tell me?

It is the fraction of total UV absorbance at 214 nm attributable to the main peak. It is a good, standard, honest measure — with one limitation worth knowing: anything that does not absorb at 214 nm is invisible to it. That is precisely why we also report moisture, counterion and net content separately rather than letting one number do all the work.

05How does it ship?

Lyophilised peptides are stable at ambient temperature for the length of a courier transit, so we ship with a phase-change pack rather than dry ice, which is cheaper for you and less likely to be delayed at customs. Orders placed before 14:45 CET leave the same day. Refrigerate on arrival.
