KPV
α-MSH(11-13) Tripeptide
The C-terminal tripeptide of α-MSH. Small, stable, and cheap to make well — there is no excuse for a poor lot.
KPV is three residues, freely soluble, and chemically unremarkable, which makes it a good calibration purchase: if a supplier cannot deliver a clean KPV certificate, nothing else in their catalogue is worth trusting. We stock it at 10 mg because that is the size most protocols consume in a working month, and we price it near cost. The one genuine caution is that the free N-terminal lysine makes the powder mildly hygroscopic; a cake that has picked up water will look glassy rather than matte.
